PRODUCT CARE

At asa iceland we make all our jewellery from sterling silver, stamped 925. In addition, some of our Forget Me Not collection pieces have pearls, Zirconium and semi precious stones for accents. These delicate materials need appropriate care to last for a long time, therefore we have the following suggestions for product care.

Protect your jewellery

Lovely jewellery is worth taking care of, and our designers have chosen sterling silver deliberately for both its aesthetic qualities and in end use. We want you to wear and enjoy our designs, but we understand that life happens. So, protect your jewellery from knocks. Avoid scratching and the silver and stones. In addition, do not expose the jewellery to chemicals such as cleanser. If you are doing housework or yardwork, make sure you use gloves or remove your jewellery.

When you are using cosmetics, please avoid exposure your asa iceland products to:

  • Nail polish remover
  • Perfume
  • Hairspray
  • Body lotion
  • Hair dyes
  • Shampoo/conditioner

Use with care

Do not wear your jewellery when bathing, swimming or while engaging in other sports activities. Perspiration is not optimal for sterling silver. Also do not wear your rings while gardening as it is easy to scratch jewellery or expose them to other chemicals.

Suggested product care

Remember to clean your jewellery regularly using warm water with mild soap. Rub gently with a soft cloth or soft toothbrush. You can also use professional jewellery cleaning products, but take care that you read manufacturers´ instructions before use.

Pearls are especially delicate. Never let professional jewellery product, or any of the chemicals mentioned above, come in contact with pearls.

About silver plating

Also remember that these products will affect the plating of your jewellery. All of our silver jewellery is plated with Rhodium to give the silver a higher degree of sheen and to prevent it from oxidising. With time, this plating will wear off creating a characteristic look of your jewellery.

We hope with these tips you will enjoy your asa jewellery for many years to come.
